How are you? I just got back on my trip to China at the 29th of August. In China, I went to the great wall of china and went to a real emperor's palace. It was a lot of fun. I went to China on the 5th of August. When we were in the palace, it got very windy and rainy then our feet, shoes, and socks got very wet and soggy. I hope your feeling better.

7 hours of shop time- a value of $525- from Landbridge Lighting. Our Georgetown shop repairs and restores antique and vintage lighting for many area retailers and antique dealers. We also design and fabricate custom lighting for architects and design professionals. The donated time may be used toward repairing an older chandelier, converting vases or other existing items into lamps, or building a custom light fixture. 2 Portrait Sessions ($200 value each) which would each include an hour photography at my home studio or a Seattle area location, a print (up to an 11x14), and would expire 1 year from the auction date. These would be great for an expecting couple who want to capture maternity portraits of the pregnant mother and then again when the newborn arrives. Or they could be auctioned off separately for a children's portrait, business portrait, engagement portrait, grandparent's portrait, etc.

I've been photographing since I was given a camera as a child then professionally since 2003. My work ranges from individual portraits to weddings. Most recently I have been focusing on figure, with an emphasis on maternity and mother/child portraits. You will have access to a 10 x 20 building with one & 1/2 bathrooms and a kitchen area. It is rustic but very servicable. The kitchen has a refrigerator, range, oven and microwave. It is popular, so the lucky bidder shouldn't wait too long to make arrangements!

Doula services
Trained doulas offer physical and emotional support to couples before, during and after the birth of their child. I've trained in the doula program at Seattle Midwifery School and am in the final steps of being certified with Doulas of North America. My aim is to support families in whatever kind of birth they dream of having through offering comfort measures, reassurance, encouragement and knowledge. I also have special training and experience in working with couples birthing after a loss.Package includes two prenatal visits, support during the entire labor and birth and a post-partum visit. $400 value.

Sandra Kim

Sandra Kim, 1st-2nd grade teacher at Wing Luke Elementary School, took an unexpected detour in life on January 30th this year, and she’s not back on any chosen path yet. Leaving school on that Friday afternoon, she wasn’t feeling well. By Monday, she was in the hospital with a rare, severe allergic reaction known as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome/Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (SJS/TEN).

By the end of the first week, she’d been transferred to Harborview for surgery and intensive-care treatment of the burn-like effects of the syndrome. Following the surgery, she developed pneumonia and septic shock. Six weeks later now, still in the Intensive Care Unit, intubated and largely sedated, she’s taking baby steps on the road to recovery. It seems clear that it’s going to take weeks – possibly months -- for Sandra and her family – her husband and two-year-old daughter – to be back on the right track, with a full recovery.

Aghast at the difficulties Sandra’s family is facing, her community hopes to help by offering some moral and financial support. Please join us at a Cinco de Mayo dinner to benefit Sandra’s family on May 2, 2009.
